![]() I was actually getting kind of anxious, wondering if we had driven almost 100 miles for nothing. We had a little pitstop in Fredricksburg for some coffee and antique shopping and then continued our way up north, following a small and winding country road (FM 2323) toward Llano. It is one of the best in Texas!!!Īs we were leaving San Antonio on I-10 heading West, we saw beautiful colors along the Highway. ![]() Oh, and when you are in Llano, check out Cooper’s BBQ. Here is a link to our route, if you are interested, where exactly we went. According to the Group’s members the Hill Country was going through its peak bloom last weekend and the closest spot to see lots of wildflowers was between Fredricksburg and Llano. So before we went on our little day trip, I had a look as well. There are even Facebook groups dedicated to Bluebonnet sightings in the Lonestar state. Wildflowers are a big thing in Texas and taking your family portraits in a patch of Bluebonnets is like a rite of passage for a true Texan. Yet just like with the Cherry Blossom Blooms all over the world, you can never guarantee that you’ll be at the right spot at the right time.Īs you drive through the Texas countryside, you see patches of colors popping up along the highway. ![]() So if you are planning a trip to Texas to see and photograph the wildflowers do some research before to increase your chances. The tricky thing about seeing the Texas Wildflowers is that they don’t arrive on a set schedule, they don’t bloom in the same spots every year and they always seem to disappear much quicker than anticipated. There are simply so many fun things to do in Texas Hill Country, you should definitely put it on your Texas bucket list! When is Wildflower Season in Texas? The Texas Hill County is a perfect day trip from either San Antonio or Austin, and even if it is not Texas Wildflower Season, I am sure you’ll enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and picturesque farm land. So last weekend, we (the husband, my mother-in-law and I, and our lovely dog Robby) took a drive through the picturesque Texas Hill Country – one of the most stunning places to visit in the South – to enjoy the peak season of the Texas Wildflower bloom and were rewarded with some stunning pictures. A friend of mine told me all about her Ennis Bluebonnet Trail adventure and so this year, I finally had to go see the Texas Wildflowers myself. All over Texas, the countryside turns into a painter’s palate of blues and reds, yellows and purples dotting the fresh green of spring. ![]() ![]() While walking to Fuu's restaurant for a meal, a vagabound name Mugen assumes Jin is one of the governor's son bodyguards, and they both fight for an even amount of time. In Tempestuous Temperaments, Jin sees corrupt officials bullying someone, and kills them. This causes many ronin and samurai to go after Jin since he killed a skilled master. Jin reacted instinctively, killing his master by mistake before fleeing as a fugitive. Jin refused, and Kariya ordered Enshiro to kill Jin in his sleep. One day, Enshiro asked Jin what would he think about turning the samurai school into a school for assassins due to Kariya Kagetoki's request. Jin also was friends with a samurai name Yukimaru whom he considered as a brother. Jin was trained by his sensei Enshiro Mariya in his dojo, where he became his favorite pupil. This could be because of the loss of his parents at an early age, the enormous amount of training and being rejected by his classmates. It should also be noted that he rarely smiles throughout the series. Throughout the series he is hunted by his former classmates at the dojo as well as several other ronin who wish to kill him and make a name for themselves. However, Jin instead killed Enshirou and fled the dojo. When Jin opposed the change, Kariya Kagetoki, who was pulling Enshirou's strings, ordered him to kill his star pupil and intended successor. When Jin was 18, Enshiro Mariya (Jin's sensei) told him that he was going to change his dojo into a school for assassins. Jin will often remark that there is no honor in serving a cruel tyrant. Jin also seems annoyed by those who use their martial arts skills to oppress people, especially those who proclaim that they are doing it in service of their lord. Although the two annoy him on occasion, he is often willing to take on an extremely deadly opponent alone in order to allow them to escape. ![]() This lack of companionship means that he values the friendship of Fuu and Mugen as he seems genuinely saddened when the three part ways. By his own admission, Jin has spent most of his time focusing on improving his skills and almost no time at all on cultivating friends. However, his stoic demeanor can irritate his companions since he responds to their thoughts with sighs or grunts. Unlike Fuu and Mugen, Jin is a calm and collected guy under the most dire of circumstances as he leads both Fuu and Mugen to confide in him. His pair of glasses is purely ornamental as Mugen later found out after getting a chance to peer through them. He wears a teal beaded bracelet on both his wrists, which are actually Buddhist prayer beads. His attire is a simple indigo blue haori that is adorned with multiple symbols that are four squares in a diamond formation on the right pec, sleeves and back of his haori and a white keikogi and hakama. In the anime and manga, young girls and women find Jin attractive and handsome that Fuu also admits this in her diary in The Disorder Diaries. Jin is a bespectacled young man with long black hair that is tied in a low loose ponytail with two strands framing his face on either side and dark-brown eyes. There were seventy-five in the water, so we'll use base ten blocks to represent seventy-five. The first step is to represent how many ducks they started with. These tools help us see what's happening when we regroup, or borrow. ![]() We can use a place value chart and base ten blocks to model subtraction. Let's subtract eighteen from seventy-five using base ten blocks on a place value chart to see how many are left. Squeaks placed seventy-five rubber ducks in the water, and took eighteen out. "Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers using Base Ten Blocks with Regrouping". Squeaks has this net so he can take out all the extra ducks! But how many ducks are left? In order to see how many ducks we have for the race, Mr. "Malfunction, malfunction!" Good thing Mr. Squeaks is helping with the annual Rubber Duck Race. Remember when subtracting two-digit numbers using base ten blocks with regrouping follow these steps: Seventy-five minus eighteen equals fifty-seven! Using Base-10 Blocks to Subtract with Regrouping Summary Be sure to record your answer on the place value chart. The third step is to subtract the tens place, so subtract one ten from six tens to get five tens. Be sure to record the seven on the place value chart. Now there are fifteen blocks in the ones place that we can subtract eight from to get seven. Can we take away eight from five? No! There are not enough blocks! Since there is not enough blocks to take away, we regroup, or borrow, a ten from the tens place and break it into ten ones. The second step is to subtract eighteen starting with the ones place so subtract eight from five. There is a five in the ones place, so we put five ones in the ones column. Since there is a seven in the tens place, we put seven tens in the tens column. In order to see how many ducks are left, we will subtract seventy-five and eighteen using the place value chart and base ten blocks. There were seventy-five ducks in the water, and Mr. How do you subtract with regrouping? Let’s take a look at this example of subtraction with base ten blocks regrouping from the video. Pay close attention to the steps for solving 2 digit subtraction with regrouping with base ten blocks, so you can see these rules in action! Subtraction with Regrouping – Example The next section will show an example of 2 digit subtraction with regrouping using base ten blocks. As you go through and subtract, keep track of what you are doing on the place value chart and in the answer. When practicing subtraction with regrouping with base ten blocks, it is important to write down the problem with the larger number first. We practice regrouping with base-ten blocks on a place value chart because these tools help us see what's happening when we regroup, or borrow. When this happens, we regroup, or borrow, from another place value so that we can continue solving. Sometimes when we are subtracting, there is not enough to take away. What Does Subtraction with Regrouping Mean? Subtracting means to take away from a group. In order to subtraction with regrouping and base ten blocks, let’s first talk about what subtraction with regrouping means and what rules for subtraction with base ten blocks and regrouping are. I was surprised at how little throttle I was using because of the abundant low-speed grunt this thing has. The weight wasn't a big issue, although I've had motorcycles over the years so even the eZip was light in comparison. Ĭlick to expand.Had my (even heavier!) eZip on forest roads a while back. But here's a link to a guy that changed the freewheel from a 20t to a 16t and increased the speed from 15mph to 20mph. Ezip replaced them and several other parts free of charge (except for shipping).įor the most part you can not up the voltage on the new model I or Ezip bikes because they have installed an "over voltage" cut off in the controller. I needed to mount the bike on the car rack and could not leave the battery in the rack and had to pry the battery out of the lock with a very large screw driver. I have 2 Ezip bike (wife and mine) and the locks on mine would not open. I bought the straps at Best Buy and they are about 3/4" wide and can be cut to size as needed.īe careful with the locks. This seems to be just enough to quiet most of the noise. THe fussy side is contacting the back of the battery when the battery in installed in the rack. To hold the battery in tighter I use 4 valcro straps wrapped around the Alm. all for now, I hope to be able to test the range later this weekend. Anyone have a recommendation on a tire that is good for about 80% road (sometimes rough), 20% dirt? I'll probably ditch the knobby tires soon. That little boost going up a hill is awesome! It has a locking mechanism, but it just prevents the pack from being removed, doesn't hold it down. The battery pack rattles around a lot on bumpy roads, this needs to be remedied. The motor isn't that noisy, I was expecting much worse. Going up the steepest hill near my house (which isn't that steep), no pedal, the motor pushed me up the hill at just above 13mph. With PAS the motor kicks in after about two seconds of pedal. TAG requires no pedal, it just takes off. It operates in two modes, TAG (twist-and-go) and PAS (pedal assist). With a little pedal it cruises at about 17mph. The manual says the top speed is 15mph and indeed on a flat road, no pedaling, it cruises right at 15mph. With the motor on the left and the battery pack on the right, the bike actually balances pretty good. Tomorrow I'll update with initial ride impressions and some photos. Regarding build quality, I would say overall build quality (not having ridden it yet) is equal to or better than most mountain bikes found at a store like Wal-Mart or Academy. The instruction manual is poor, as it is the manual for several different models and can be confusing. The bike comes reasonably well packed and partially disassembled. Even without the battery pack, it is heavy as hell. I think this model has been discontinued.įirst impression of the bike itself: HEAVY. It is different than the "eZip Trailz" version, in that it has an aluminum frame, front disc brake, front suspension fork, knobby tires, and an adjustable seat spring thing (not sure what to call that). $299 at Wal-Mart with free shipping to my local store. ![]() So, I'd like to use this space to give my impressions and real world experience riding this inexpensive bike.įirst thing - this bike was cheap. ![]() I know many here probably look down on this bike a bit, but honestly, it was a bit of an impulse buy. Since new variants of the virus have raced through younger populations, cases of long-haul Covid among them have jumped, along with multisystem inflammatory syndrome, or MIS-C, a condition that can inflame the heart, lungs, brain and other organs.
